Is there a twitter app that will only show me new followers who meet certain specs? (Following 10,000, 200 followers, 5 updates?)
This would be a handy way of getting around the spammers on Twitter. If it was combined with another request I saw – a way to mass-block followers, you’d have a good way of identifying & dumping all the spammy followers in one go. Nice.

This is one of the most frequently asked for apps I’ve seen on the ideas stream:
Is there a app for the iphone that updates Twiter and Facebook simultaneously?
I’ve also seen it asked for the Blackberry, and for its integration with MySpace too.
I’ve got no idea if such a thing exists, but if it does, they should be charging money for it (and promoting it more) as there seem to be lots of people looking for it.

Is there an app that will pull down your contacts Facebook profile pictures as their contact pics on your phone?
Good idea – I know my phone can take profile pics for contacts, but I don’t think I have any set; maybe something that adds a picture for those you know would be a good idea. Twitter could be another good source for profile pics too.

So, most of the daily ideas that have been posted have the potential to be useful. On the other side of the coin, there are some pretty strange ones that pop up….so here are a few to give you an idea of what some people are after:
- Is there an app that’ll cut my fingernails?
- Love without heartache, is there a app for that?
- Can I pay someone to rub my head every night? Is there that kind of service?
- Is there an iphone app for making beer runs?
Ehhh, so….maybe if you conquer some of those, you might be on to a winning business…

Is there a facebook app that allows you to browse your friend list by location on a map (like a google maps mash-up with friend’s locations)?
Seems like a useful idea. I haven’t played with developing Facebook apps, so I have no idea how difficult it would be to use an external mapping application to plot where friends are….but would be interesting to find out. Could also be cool if it updated as people changed their location when travelling.

Is there a site or app that lets you sort your followers/following by geo-location?
I have a feeling I’ve seen something similar to this somewhere…although it may not have been applied to those who you follow, or you follow you.
Mashing up Twitter accounts with Google Maps could give nice clusters showing the location of related groups.

Is there a Twitter app that extracts urls from Tweets that contain a certain hash tag?
A nice idea. My only concern would be the use of hash tagged trending topics to spread spammy links. Maybe including an option to expand the links to help users weed out the irrelevant links.
The other downside I can see is that the content of the message gives context to the link, so providing links alone would lose this; but I’m sure there are ways of getting around this with an intelligent design.

Is there an iPhone app that would allow me to put one thought per page into a deck of pages? I’d like to use that for presentation notes.
I like the simplicity of this. As a replacement for using index cards for getting you through a presentation, an iPhone app that displays the key talking points seems like a really nice idea.

Is there a Twitter app that can read text to audio?
I have a feeling I’ve heard of one of these somewhere…no idea where though.

Are there Twitter apps that can disambiguate questions from statements, cluster tweets by topics, and show personalized trending topics?
Some of this can be done with Twitter search (that’s how TwitEye works – you can customise your search to look for questions) – although more complex clustering and the personalised trending topics might need a bit of thought…
